Point 5. The Distinctions and function of each Spiritual Gift.
A distinction and special function of each spiritual gift needs to be understood so that every believer can find or discover his place in the Church or the body of Christ.
Presenting your bodies a living sacrifice is not a rededication service or a one shot dedication but a day by day commitment.
Notice that this is said to be acceptable to God and well pleasing to Him and your spiritual service.
Spiritual service means your rational and spiritual worship.
The human body has many parts so does the church. As members of the body, we are all different and we all have different functions. The word function is praxis which means to function on the same team.
We are members of one another because we are all “in Christ,” 1CO 12:13.
No matter how in significant you may think your gift may be, you are on the team and your gift is just as necessary as any other gift.
Don’t ever be discouraged about your spiritual gift because if you do you are resenting the omniscience of God the Holy Spirit.
(1) To equip and train the Royal Family for combat. (2) For the work of service which speaks of preparing believers to function in their spiritual gift. (3) For the edification of the body, i.e., to study, to teach, to discipline (public), reprimand (private), and encourage by steadfastness and doctrine.
