Joy in the Greek is ‘chara’.
It is defined as inner happiness or gladness.
It is sharing the happiness of God.

When our focus is on God then it will not matter what the circumstances are because we understand that God in His sovereignty is in control of all things.

Joy comes from knowing who God is and what He has done.
It is a deep confidence in God’s unchanging Divine promises.

ZEPH 3:17 - The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

Joy is remaining close to Jesus;
Abiding in Him; Experiencing His continuing presence.

Fellowship with like-minded believers brings joy.
The body of Christ was meant to be connected one to another.

Joy is sharing Christ.
Jesus is the single most important Person in time and eternity and when we have the opportunity to share Him, we experience joy.

Joy for the Christian is also marked by the expectation of God’s ultimate victory over the powers of sin and darkness; And our sharing in that victory.

The believer’s joy is supernaturally given by the indwelling Spirit of Christ and thus is independent of the circumstances.
